At Bison Trail, we bring fun to your outdoor adventure. Whether it’s around the block or on a mountain trail, we provide the products and information needed to make your trek fun. We provide traditional hiking sticks, walking canes, wooden whistles and compasses for hiking use or decoration... or both.
For four generations, our family has been making hiking sticks from our farm’s timbers. As farmers, sticks have always ben used for a variety of purposes that included hiking.
We begin with selected saplings from sassafrss, hickory and other locally grown woods. Next the saplings are kiln dried to make them lightweight and durable. We then hand sand them to capture the woods beauty. Next we coat them with a high gloss lacquer so that they can be used for years and passed down for generations.
