Selecting a Hiking Stick


When selecting a hiking stick, we like to consider three things:

Size
Grab a broom handle or long stick of some kind.  Place you hand in several different places on the stick to determine where it feels comfortable.  Measure the distance from the ground.  Allow a little room at the top of the stick.  Compare your measurement with the stick sizes we have available. We sell sticks in 3 foot, 4 foot, 4 1/2 foot and 5 foot sizes.

If the stick you order is too long, simply take off the rubber tip and cut from the bottom of the hiking stick until you have reached the desired length.

Weight
Different types of wood have different weights.  Lighter woods are good for light use while heavier woods are better for heavy use.  To see a comparison of the different woods, go to the
